Think differently about ageing

How we are missing out

You think you know what it means to be old. But older people care about the same things that you do.

Part of Action for Elder’s work is to help people understand just how much older people have to give to us all.

Right now, we’re losing out by leaving older people out. There are many things we can do, but first, we can listen. Watch our stories below. Think differently about ageing.

Tina

Tina wants young and old people to join forces to change the world for the better for all. If younger people think differently about ageing, we can achieve so much.

Chris

We know as much as you know.

Margaret

So much of the media focuses on the cliched wrinkled hands, it’s time to show who older people really are.

Ian

I travel all over the world climbing, being older doesn’t mean staying still.

Wynford

Everyone thinks getting older is doom and gloom, but there is so much to look forward to if only we think differently about ageing.

Betty

I’ve made more friends now than ever before, if people think differently about ageing and realise that it’s not a lonely time, we might look forward to ageing.

Joan (not her real name)

It’s time for the acceptance of older people. It’s time people think differently about ageing.
